Hi,
Sorry for the lack of posting recently. There are some changes ahead for the daily challenges at The Crafter's Cafe, so that is why recently I haven't been posting each Monday. More details will follow in the future.
This Saturday (22nd September) at 7-10pm Eastern time (Sunday afternoon here in New Zealand) we have our monthly/bi-monthly chat. Please pop along and join us in the discussions. A challenge will be posted during the chat which you will have time after the chat to take part it. I think usually you have about a week to take part. Remember you do need to be a member, so please join up if you haven't already done so.
Enjoy your weekend.

Embellies with a Twist - Birthday Celebration
We had fun in the weekend with The Crafter's Cafe's 3rd birthday and the live chat. I was able to take part for a while before I headed out to take my kids to a birthday party. It may have been on during the evening in some parts of America, but it was Sunday afternoon here in New Zealand.
We also have some new challenges as part of the birthday celebration. Have a look at some great examples and take part yourself. I am not sure when they need to be done by, so I will get back to you on that one.
Here is my card which features the TSB colours and also
fits the embellies with a twist theme as it three gems embellishments.
Supplies
Image: Digi image Tulips from The Stamping Boutique
Ink: Black versafine
Cardstock: white and rose pink, (I used the green copic marker to colour the white card to match the leaves)
Other: Spellbinder circle dies, copics, gems, Sizzix plaid embossing folder
Happy 3rd Birthday The Crafter's Cafe!
I hope you can visit us at The Crafter's Cafe and take part in some way.
Have a great week!

Embellies with a Twist - Extended
The Monday Embellies with a Twist - Anything Goes challenge at The Crafter's Cafe has been extended for another week until 12th August, so if you haven't had a chance to take part yet, please come and join us. Please also have a look at the wonderful creations that have been made so far.
Here is another card I made the other day:
I used the 1" punch to cut out the circles from different patterned paper and adhered it to the embossed dotted background matted with the lucky limeade card stock and mounted onto the wisteria wonder card stock. I only had white ribbon so I coloured it with my ink pad to match.
Supplies:
Card stock: Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Ink: Wisteria Wonder
DSP: In colours 2011-2013 Patterns DSP stack
Accessories: 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (inked with Wisteria Wonder ink), 1" circle punch, Polka dots embossing folder
Thanks for stopping by and for your comments.
Enjoy the rest of your week

Embellies with a Twist at TCC - Anything Goes
It is the end of the month and we have another "Anything Goes" theme for our Monday Embellies with a Twist challenge. We would love for you to join us at The Crafter's Cafe and take part.
My card features the colours from The Play Date Cafe - Challenge #142
Here is the card:
I coloured my image using the pink copic and a the celeste blue ink and cut it out. I inked the inside of the happy birthday embossing folder with the celeste blue ink using a brayer, added the white card stock and put it through my cuttlebug. I matted this onto the pink card (the edge coloured with my pink copic marker as I didn't have the right pink and that way it matched the pink on the cupcake). I added my twine and then mounted this onto the yellow card. I adhered the cupcake image using dimensionals and added some glossy accents on the cherry, ribbon and hearts to give a bit more dimension to the cupcake.
Supplies:
Image: The Stamping Boutique - Cupcake digital image
Cardstock: Yellow and white
Ink: Celeste blue impress ink
Other: Cuttlebug happy birthday folder, pink and white twine, glossy accents, Copics, RV02, Pen nibs,
It is also The Crafter's Cafe's 3rd birthday and on Saturday 11th August there will be a huge birthday celebration.
Hope to see you there.
Have a great week.

A smal box of fudge
Last week I wanted to give a little something to someone I knew who was having a small operation. I had made some fudge so thought I would make a little box to put a few pieces in. I could have done a little more to the box, but I needed to make something quickly.
The box:
I used the mini pizza box style for this box. I stamped a small flower stamp over the plain purple card stock. I made a little sleeve to go around it to keep it closed. I didn't have purple ribbon so inked the white ribbon I had and just had to give it some time to dry before I put it onto the sleeve. Perhaps a few gems would have added to it.
This type of box is also great to put some small cards and envelopes in to give to someone.
The contents inside: Four pieces of russian fudge
Here is the recipe in case you would like to try and make it yourself.
Russian
Fudge (From the Edmonds Cookbook - a famous New Zealand recipe book)
3 cups sugar
½ cup milk
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
125g butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon golden syrup
Put sugar and milk into a saucepan.
Heat gently, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Add condensed
milk, butter, salt and golden syrup.
Stir until butter has melted.
Bring to the boil and continue boiling to the soft ball stage, stirring
occasionally to prevent burning. Remove
from heat. Cool slightly. Beat until thick. Pour into a buttered tin. Mark into squares. Cut when cold. Vanilla essence or chopped nuts may be added
to the fudge before beating if desired.
Soft ball stage – 114ÂșC – Drop a small amount of syrup into very
cold water. A soft ball forms that
flattens on removal.
Thanks for dropping by.

Embellies with a Twist at TCC - Christmas in July
I was a week ahead of myself in some ways, but a day behind in this week's post. The card I made last week for the "Make it wet" theme was a Christmas card and the challenge for this week is "Christmas in July". So here is another Christmas card. Please join us for the challenge. Remember that now is a great time to start building up your Christmas card supply. The challenge has returned to the old forum layout which seems a bit easier to work with. If you participate you can also earn points. Click here to learn how you can earn points.
Today's card is a small 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" card. I thought this small sized card would be good to make for a set of cards which can fit into small pizza box, along with envelopes.
I stamped my image onto white card stock and cut it to size. I used pen nibs to colour in the leaves and berries with ink. I sponged the edges. I mounted this onto patterned paper with dimensionals which I had matted onto Wisteria Wonder card. I used a technique that Dawn T had taught me. The Wisteria Wonder matted card is actually white card sponged with ink to create the coloured matted background, (I could have used wisteria wonder cardstock, but I wanted to keep the full sized piece of card for something else.)
Supplies:
Stamps: Easy Events from Stampin' Up
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder (from Stampin' Up), Fired brick distress ink
Cardstock: White
Patterned Paper: DSP In colours 2011-2013
Other: Glossy Accents, Ranger brush tip pen nibs
Thanks for dropping by and for your comments.
Have a great rest of the week.
Blessings,
Angela
